We are never staying here again.
The second night the window air conditioner started BANGING LIKE CRAZY. There was no one in the office to address the issue, so we slept with pillows on our heads. The AC filter was filthy. When we left the office was still empty so we called our credit card company to cancel the charge -- we were not going to pay for the second night. When the manager called us later he said he was surprised to see our car in the parking lot the second night, since he thought we were only staying one night even though our reservation was for two.
The room was dark and vintage 1970s -- ashtray in the room with matches, a rotary dial phone, crunchy carpet. You enter the bathtub through a little opening off the bathroom, like going into a closet. Everything is clean but slightly broken. There was paint from when the bathroom was painted dried on the floor.
When we arrived the manager was upset because I wanted him to charge the room to the card used to make the reservation. I did not have the card with me, since my mom had made the reservation for us. He said, "We don't do that. I've been here 15 years and I've never had anyone ask to do that." After much wrangling I agreed to pay the fee for him to do so. He said they take credit card numbers to hold the reservation but he doesn't keep them. Frankly, I think he doesn't even write them down.
Not sure if this typical or not, but I was trying to get a room after a gig that got done around 2:30am. No one responded to the buzzer or phone, even though the sign said to buzz or call for service after hours. The place looked very cozy from the outside, though.
We stayed here in September and we quite pleased with everything! The rooms were nice for the price and the service was good. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly as well as personable. I would rate it a 10 because I never expected such a nice place (for the price).
Great
Clean, but stay here with VERY LOW expectations
It is a reasonable room close to the border. Nothing special but priced right.
